Revelation 12:7-12
7And there was war in heaven. Michael and his angels fought against the dragon,
and the dragon and his angels fought back. 8But he was not strong enough,
and they lost their place in heaven. 9The great dragon was hurled down—that
ancient serpent called the devil, or Satan, who leads the whole world astray. He
was hurled to the earth, and his angels with him.
10Then I heard a loud voice in heaven say:
“Now have come the salvation and the power and the kingdom of our God,
and the authority of his Christ. For the accuser of our brothers, who accuses
them before our God day and night, has been hurled down.
11They overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their
testimony;
they did not love their lives so much as to shrink from death.
12Therefore rejoice, you heavens and you who dwell in them!
But woe to the earth and the sea, because the devil has gone down to you!
He is filled with fury, because he knows that his time is short.”
Meditation
1. Satan is alive and is roaming the earth as roaring lion. His goal is to keep
people from coming to know Jesus personally, and to tempt and fool the
believers. How often we fall traps to the tricks of Satan!
2. But Christians are reminded of the victory of Christ over Satan and death.
Salvation is assured and God’s rule is intact. No matter how daunting the
Dragon, Christ will prevail. Believers have to keep trusting God and persist in
their witness, proclaiming that Christ reigns.
Personal Note:
As I look at people I know, some of them are going through tremendous suffering, some of them are questioning the meaning of life, and some of them are losing hope. I see how Satan is alive and is attacking people from coming to know Jesus personally. I pray that I trust in Christ's victory over Satan. I am able to stand firm in the midst of all my challenges because of God's love for me. I pray that God's love and the assurance of salvation will help my friends who are going through challenges.
